Katanas and Shurikens
Katana
This kind of weapon has high attack speed and deals a lot of damage when triggering its special ability. To craft a katana, follow these steps:
- Obtain sand, clay, and iron nuggets to craft iron sand in the crafting table.
- Once you have iron sand, put it inside a furnace so it melts into tamahagane chunk.
- Using two tamahagane chunks and a stick, craft a katana, just like this:

A katana is more durable than a regular iron sword. It can be repaired using tamahagane chunks or by enchanting it with mending. All sword enchantments also work with a katana.
Special Ability
Jump and hit an enemy while you're in the air to dash through them and deal even more damage. It works the same way as dealing critical damage with any weapon.
Shuriken
This item can be thrown at enemies dealing damage and slowing them down for a few seconds. Up to 16 shurikens can be stacked at once, just like snowballs. To craft a shuriken, follow these steps:
- Obtain sand, clay, and iron nuggets to craft iron sand in the crafting table.
- Once you have iron sand, put it inside a furnace so it melts into tamahagane chunk.
- Using one tamahagane chunk will give 4 shurikens in total, just like this:

If a shuriken doesn't hit an enemy or any entity, it will not break and drop on the ground. Boats and item frames cannot be broken using a shuriken. Enchantments for this item are not yet available.
